Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the calife.com website, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights. It applies in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).

The data we process

1. Contact form. Last name, first name, phone number, email address and message. They are sent to us by email so that we can reply to you and are not stored on the website. Legal basis: your request (pre-contractual measures) or our legitimate interest in replying to messages. Retention: 3 years after our last exchange.

2. Chat assistant. Your messages are sent to our artificial intelligence provider, Anthropic (United States), solely to generate the response. The website does not store the conversation: it remains in your browser (session storage) and is deleted when you close the tab. If you use the microphone, speech recognition is performed by your browser. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in informing you. Please do not enter any sensitive data or bank details. The transfer outside the European Union is subject to safeguards compliant with the GDPR [TO BE CHECKED: standard contractual clauses or Data Privacy Framework].

3. Reservations and gift vouchers. These are made on the Zenchefplatform, which collects the necessary information (identity, contact details, booking details, payment) on our behalf. Legal basis: performance of the contract. See also Zenchef’s privacy policy on its pages.

4. Audience measurement. We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) to understand how the website is used (pages viewed, duration, country, device). Legal basis: your consent.

5. Security and abuse prevention. To limit the number of submissions of the form and the assistant, your IP address is used in encrypted form for 1 hour (form) or 24 hours (assistant), then deleted. Our hosting provider’s server also keeps technical connection logs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the website.

Cookies and storage in your browser

The first three items are necessary for the website to function and do not require consent. Audience measurement cookies require your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. You can also block or delete them in your browser settings.

The website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. The links to Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook, Tripadvisor and Zenchef open those services, which apply their own rules.

Recipients

Your data is intended for the team of S.A.S. Nouvelles Rives and, to the extent relevant to them, our service providers: LWS (hosting, France), Zenchef (reservations and gift vouchers), Anthropic (assistant), Google (audience measurement and fonts). We never sell your data.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, object to its processing, request its restriction or portability, and withdraw your consent. You may also set guidelines regarding what happens to your data after your death.

Write to us at calife@calife.com. We respond within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

Security

The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the administration area is restricted to the team and its service providers.

This policy may change. The date of the latest update appears at the top of the page.
